Army Subedar Killed by Wife, Kin

Hyderabad:An Army Subedar was murdered by his wife and her family members in Medak district after disputes over his alleged extramarital affairs.

Police said Padma, wife of Kumar Goud, 49, along with her parents and younger brother, attacked him with sticks at his house in Military Colony, Medak Mandal. Later, they attempted to mislead relatives by only informing them that he was in hospital.

Medak Town SHO stated that Padma had grown suspicious after learning of Kumar’s affair. The couple had quarrelled over the issue, and a panchayat meeting was held recently to resolve the matter. Padma had returned to her hometown Variguntam 15 days ago.

On Sunday evening, Kumar’s brother Ravinder found him dead with bleeding injuries and alerted police. Based on his complaint, Padma, her mother Yellamma, brother Santosh Goud and another relative were taken into custody.

Police said they suspect more people may be involved. The body was shifted to Medak government hospital for post‑mortem and later handed over to Ravinder.

Kumar Goud, posted in Uttarakhand, was on vacation. He had come to Medak on May 11 to meet his wife and two daughters, who were staying in Military Colony.
