Army helicopters airlift seven farmers stranded by floods in Sircilla; Collector, SP lauded for all-night rescue efforts

Sircilla: Seven people who were trapped at the Upper Maneru project in Narmala village of Gambhiraopet mandal were safely rescued with the help of Army helicopters after a tense overnight operation.
The stranded persons—farmers Jangam Swami, Pitla Swami, Pitla Mahesh, Pitla Narsimlu, Dhyanaboyina Swami, Bise Pradeep and Bise Chaya—had gone to graze cattle on the other side of the project on Wednesday when sudden floods cut off their return. District officials immediately swung into action, providing food and monitoring the situation through the night.
Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha and SP Mahesh B. Gite camped at the site from Wednesday afternoon until 2 a.m., personally supervising rescue operations and coordinating with the NDRF. On Thursday morning, Army helicopters airlifted the stranded farmers and brought them safely.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and Government Whip and Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas were in constant touch with officials, reviewing relief efforts. Later, Bandi Sanjay met the rescued villagers and congratulated the officials.
