APT 2.0 Rolled Out Across Telangana
The upgraded system enables UPI-based payments for across-the-counter services and offers end-to-end consignment tracking with real-time mobile updates, even for unregistered articles

Hyderabad:Dr P.V.S. Reddy, chief postmaster general, Telangana circle, launched Advanced Postal Technology (APT) 2.0 across all 5,727 post offices in the state, including 32 head post offices, 689 sub-post offices and 5,006 branch post offices on Monday. APT 2.0 promises a significantly improved customer experience, particularly in rural areas, by leveraging digital tools to provide faster, more transparent and doorstep-enabled postal services.
The upgraded system enables UPI-based payments for across-the-counter services and offers end-to-end consignment tracking with real-time mobile updates, even for unregistered articles. Customers can now predefine delivery instructions during mail booking, while UPI-enabled collection of cash-on-delivery (COD) payments at residences is also supported.
Pick-up services from branch post office levels have been integrated into the same app. Delivery personnel will use a new doorstep services app featuring secure authentication, digital signature capture and video recording.
Branch post offices will now be equipped with mobile apps for booking and managing transactions, including direct e-money order bookings. Customers also have access to the Dak Seva Portal for online booking of domestic, international mail, eMOs and ePost services.
Additionally, a chatbot named ‘Megha’ has been introduced for queries, complaints, tracking and locating post offices. Franchisee applications have also been upgraded to improve usability, booking and service delivery at authorised outlets.
