Applications For Indiramma Towers Phase 2 Soon: Ponguleti
Telangana will soon invite applications for the second phase of Indiramma Towers in Hyderabad CURE, offering housing to eligible urban poor residents.

Revenue and housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday said the state government would soon invite applications for the second phase of Indiramma Towers in the Hyderabad Core Urban Region (CURE), aimed at providing housing to the urban poor close to their workplaces.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for Indiramma Towers at Pocharam in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, the minister said the government had targeted construction of 1 lakh houses in the region in the first phase. Tenders for works in 23 Assembly constituencies had been finalised and foundation stones laid at six locations.
Ponguleti said 480 beneficiaries had been selected in Medchal constituency through a public draw after scrutiny of online applications to verify eligibility and exclude existing homeowners. Flats would be allotted only to eligible residents of the respective localities.
He said the government would register the flats in the beneficiaries' names, granting full ownership rights, including their share of the land, without collecting registration fees.
The minister said the government aimed to complete the first-phase houses and hand over the keys by the next Bathukamma festival. Applicants who were unsuccessful in the first phase would be considered in subsequent phases alongside fresh applicants.
He said the government was committed to providing housing within existing neighbourhoods rather than relocating economically weaker sections to distant areas, which could disrupt their livelihoods.
