AP MLA’s Son Tests Positive After Marijuana Raid

Interstate drug peddling under lens

Hyderabad: Sudheer Reddy Chadipirala, son of Jammalamadugu BJP MLA Adinarayana Reddy, who was caught consuming marijuana during a raid in Nanakramguda on Saturday, has reportedly fallen ill. Police confirmed on Sunday that he is undergoing treatment at a rehabilitation centre.

Officials said the Telangana EAGLE Force (Anti-Narcotics Bureau), which apprehended him during the surprise raid, subjected him to a test that returned positive for marijuana use.

Investigators have since made headway in the probe, identifying a woman and two other peddlers suspected of supplying the contraband within the city’s IT corridor. Sources said Sudheer’s mobile phone yielded contacts linked to an inter-state drug peddling network.

“Our teams have successfully identified the local suppliers and peddlers involved. While the case is under active investigation, Sudheer is presently under medical care. We will proceed with custodial interrogation as per law once doctors grant clearance,” a senior officer said.

The EAGLE Force is now working to dismantle the supply chain connecting high-profile consumers to inter-state drug syndicates.
