AP Increases Input Subsidy For Paddy Farmers By ₹8,000 Per Hectare

Ramanaidu directed officials to assess the damage to paddy crops: Reports

KAKINADA: Water resources minister Nimmala Ramanaidu disclosed on Thursday that the AP government has increased the input subsidy for paddy farmers from ₹17,000 to ₹25,000 per hectare.

The hike is to support farmers whose paddy has been lost due to cyclones Arnab and Murasu.

Ramanaidu directed officials to assess the damage to paddy crops, coconut, and banana plantations, apart from houses.

The minister said fishermen and handloom weavers affected by cyclones are being provided 50 kg of rice, along with five types of essential commodities. At the same time, all other families affected by the cyclones would receive 10 kg of rice free of cost.

Ramanaidu said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has demonstrated foresight and effective leadership in managing the crisis caused by the two cyclones, ensuring that there is no loss of life.

Commenting on the MPTC and ZPTC elections, Ramanaidu said the polling trends indicated a one-sided victory for the alliance. He attributed this to public satisfaction with the coalition government's development and welfare initiatives.

The minister said people had placed their trust in Chandrababu Naidu's administrative competence. He requested them to continue supporting the alliance leadership.
