Anudeep Durishetty Orders Magisterial Probe Into Convict’s Death In Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Collector Anudeep Durishetty has ordered a magisterial probe into the death of convict Dana Sani Mallesh alias Podium Mallesh while undergoing treatment at Gandhi hospital on March 19, 2025.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Deputy Registrar has informed that the Commission has received intimation regarding the custodial death of 37-year-old Sani Mallesh, who was the prisoner 7078, at the Gandhi hospital.
The G.O.Ms.No.51 Home department dated February 2, 2003 stipulates that in case of death of an undertrial prisoner or one serving sentence, even in a hospital, the inquest, postmortem, and a magisterial inquiry has to be done.
As per the government order, the Hyderabad Collector ordered a magisterial inquiry.
