Andhra Pradesh: AAI Invites Tenders For ₹214-Cr Mamnoor Airport Works

WARANGAL: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has invited tenders for infrastructure development and construction of a new terminal building at Mamnoor Airport in Warangal, paving the way for the proposed works to begin.
The works, estimated at ₹213.59 crore, include a new domestic terminal building, an Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower-cum-technical block, a fire station and an Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) workshop, among other infrastructure.
The AAI issued the e-tender notification on September 14. The deadline for submitting bids is November 3 and the bids will be opened on November 9. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for September 28.
The project was also discussed recently when Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Union civil aviation minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu in Delhi. The Union minister reportedly assured him that steps would be taken to complete the tender process and lay the foundation stone for the works in December.
Once operational, the airport is expected to improve air connectivity to Warangal and surrounding areas. Improved connectivity is also expected to support industrial, tourism and IT activity in the region and facilitate travel to destinations such as Ramappa Temple, the Thousand Pillar Temple and other Kakatiya heritage sites.
