The first phase will focus on screening BMI, height, weight, blood pressure and diabetes

Hyderabad: Director-General of Police, C.V. Anand is taking steps to expand the FitCop programme, a dedicated application aimed at monitoring and improving the health and well-being of police personnel, across all units and wings of Telangana police.
He held a meeting here on Friday with the app developers, the technical team and senior officers to review the health parameters and essential features to be incorporated into the application. A sponsor has also been identified who is willing to fund the entire programme for the next 10 years.
The meeting also discussed the MoU and the rollout action plan, with the programme expected to be launched within the next 40 to 45 days. The initiative will cover all 90,000 personnel of Telangana police, with their health parameters systematically screened and recorded.
The first phase will focus on screening BMI, height, weight, blood pressure and diabetes. Personnel identified as high-risk will receive targeted medical guidance and follow-up monitoring through doctors making calls from a dedicated call centre.
The welfare initiative will also focus on mental health, personalised diet and exercise recommendations, and overall wellness.
The objective, as emphasised by Anand, is not merely to monitor health but to help every police personnel lead a healthier life, improve overall well-being and enhance work efficiency.
