Hyderabad: The state government is planning to build Dr B.R. Ambedkar Museum and Memorial Library near Secretariat. The project will be developed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) in the existing complex that houses the iconic 125-foot bronze statue of Ambedkar.
The museum will not only chronicle Ambedkar’s life and legacy but also highlight key personalities who influenced his journey. It will feature spaces for workshops, interactive zones, souvenir shops and is expected to become a significant addition to Hyderabad’s cultural landmarks. Salient features include exhibition halls, galleries, visitor areas and an administrative area. For the ones who want to take a virtual tour, a mechanism will be in place.
The museum will also have murals, front and backlit pictures, mannequins, animatronics, projected walls, video walls with films of Ambedkar and holograms. The other features of the memorial include multilingual digital displays and interactive kiosks that will provide information in various languages and language-specific audio guides will also be in place offering narrated tours.
Narrating Ambedkar’s role in Indian History, highlighting the societal and cultural impact and telling the stories using the graphical interface behind Ambedkar’s works are other significant features of the museum.
