Hyderabad:Amazon.in announced that Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have emerged as fast growing states for Amazon Bazaar. Orders across both states have increased four-fold year-on-year, with Hyderabad leading the increase in new customer sign-ups.
Vijayawada, Guntur, Visakhapatnam and Warangal are the other key markets.
It has products starting at Rs 99 across fashion, home, kitchen and electronic accessories. It saw a surge across categories like sarees, kurtis, fashion jewelry, home decor, utility kitchen items and mobile covers.
“Andhra Pradesh and Telangana represent significant growth states for Amazon Bazaar. We are witnessing a shift in online shopping behaviour, especially across tier-2 and tier-3 cities, where customers seek quality, variety and value,” said Sameer Lalwani, head, Amazon Bazaar.
The two states are home to more than 75,000 sellers on Amazon.in, including over 1,200 sellers who are part of Amazon Bazaar. Amazon has 8 fulfilment centres, 3 sortation centres and nearly 1,500 hub delivery partners. It will add more local sellers in fashion, home and kitchen and consumer electronics, according to a release.
