Alleti Dares CM Revanth on Procurement

He urged the Chief Minister to stop shifting the blame onto the Centre for everything, noting that the Union government was in fact extending support across all sectors.

Hyderabad: The BJP Legislative Party leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy dared Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for an open debate on issues engulfing the state including paddy procurement and farmers distress.

He urged the Chief Minister to stop shifting the blame onto the Centre for everything, noting that the Union government was in fact extending support across all sectors.

Speaking to media persons at BJP state office, Maheshwar Reddy lashed out at Revanth Reddy, accusing him of constantly speaking lies. He stated that while farmers in the state cultivated approximately 1.41 crore metric tonnes of paddy, the government initially announced that it would procure 90 LMT and revised the target to 75 LMT, but could not even achieve these targets.

He alleged that despite the Central government procuring 60 per cent of the paddy from Telangana, the state government was attempting to tarnish its reputation. He said that Revanth Reddy has no moral right to continue in power.

Furthermore, regarding the ‘Indiramma Houses’ scheme, he clarified that although `7,000 crore was allocated in the budget, however `4,640 crore of that amount was actually provided by the Central government.
