Kishan Singh alias Pappu, who was arrested in the Moizuddin murder case, had been associated with Mahbub Alam Khan and Osman Khan and had earlier worked as an attender at Anwar-Ul-Uloom College in Mallepally.
Hyderabad:The feud between the Alam Khan family and advocate Khaja Moizuddin began in 2013 after Mahbub Alam Khan and Osman Khan allegedly initiated a criminal case against the Wakf activist through a woman. The case was registered at Langer Houz police station.
According to a police custody statement reviewed by Deccan Chronicle, the Alam Khan family’s hostility towards Moizuddin had intensified due to his involvement in Waqf disputes and legal proceedings against son Mujahid and father Mahboob and their family members.
Kishan Singh alias Pappu, who was arrested in the Moizuddin murder case, had been associated with Mahbub Alam Khan and Osman Khan and had earlier worked as an attender at Anwar-Ul-Uloom College in Mallepally. He also allegedly assisted the Alam family in organising political meetings and public gatherings, according to the alleged confession of Mujajid Alam Khan. Mujahid Alam Khan allegedly instructed Kishan Singh on three occasions to attack Moizuddin, but the attempts were unsuccessful. In 2025, he allegedly arranged through Osman Khan for a group of women to assault Moizuddin to intimidate him. The matter was later compromised at Abids police station, the statement said.
Mujahid and Mahbub Alam Khal subsequently allegedly decided to kill Moizuddin and make his death appear to be the result of a road accident. Md Muneer and Hassan Ali alias Chaush were allegedly assigned to coordinate the plan with Kishan and his associates.
After the plan was finalised on May 5, Mujahid Alam Khan left for Ooty and allegedly instructed Muneer and Hassan to oversee its execution and keep him informed. He remained in contact with them through WhatsApp calls and messages, the statement said.
On May 22, Muneer allegedly informed Mujahid Alam Khan that the plan would be carried out in the early hours of May 23. After the murder, he allegedly informed Mujahid Alam Khan that the task had been completed, according to the statement.
Kishan Singh was allegedly promised `15 lakh for carrying out the murder; he paid them only a part of it. After the killing, Muneer reportedly informed Mujahid Alam Khan that Kishan Singh was demanding the balance amount, following which a partial payment was made, the statement alleged.
Mujahid Alam Khan allegedly admitted to providing financial assistance and logistical support for the conspiracy. Police arrested him and Mahaboob at a flat on Road No. 23/1 in Jubilee Hills at about 8 am on May 29 and produced them before the Abids assistant commissioner of police.
Police also seized a phone allegedly used by Mujahid Alam Khan to communicate with Muneer and other accused before and after the murder.
Father-son duo fight in central prison
Hyderabad:Mujahid Alam Khan and his father Mahbub Alam Khan, accused of conspiring in advocate Khaja Moizuddin’s murder, were shifted to separate barracks at Chanchalguda Central Prison after repeated arguments over the handling of their case, family sources said.
The two were lodged in the Manjeera Barracks after a court granted investigators two days of police custody for Mahbub Alam Khan. When they were in the same barrack, sources said they had a serious altercation.
Following the dispute, prison authorities reportedly moved the son to Manjeera Barrack and the father to the Hospital Barrack.
During the argument, Mujahid allegedly abused his father and claimed he would all details during questioning, sources said A close associate of Mahbub Alam Khan alleged that the son became aggressive as he feared his father would reveal details that he had withheld during his own police custody.
Key accused in advocate case still a legal
Hyderabad:Md Muneer and Hassan Ali alias Chaush, accused of conspiring in advocate Khaja Moizuddin’s murder, remain at large more than 70 days after the killing.
The failure to locate the two, both residents of the city, has also raised questions among their associates about whether they are alive, the sources said. Sources associated with the accused, who requested anonymity, claimed that Mujahid and Mahbub Alam Khan ordered a hit on the duo through their other associates, including Osman Pehelwan of Punjab Bakery. This claim could not be verified by other authorities.
