Mahbub Alam Khan, in his petition, challenged Memo No. L&O/ARMS3/0173/2026 issued on July 3 for the cancellation of their arms licences and directing them to place the weapons in the custody of Asian Arms, a licensed dealer.
Hyderabad: Prime conspirators of advocate Khaja Moizuddin’s murder who hold nine imported firearms approached the court against the police seizing their firearms and cancelling their arms licences.
Mahbub Alam Khan, No. 2 accused in the case, through his counsel Adnan, filed a writ petition (WP) with the High Court. The petition named the principal secretary (home), the DGP, city police commissioner, Secunderabad DCP, Reserve Inspector of the City Armed Reserve headquarters and the sub-inspector of Jubilee Hills police.
It is reported that the nine imported weapons that have been seized as per the law are estimated to have a market value of over Rs 1 crore or even more, an arms dealer said.

The seized weapons were registered in the names of Mahbub and his son Mujahid Alam Khan and their family members. He alleged that the arms had been seized from the dealer and stored with the police. This, they claimed, was violative of the Arms Act and of constitutional provisions.
