Ajith Takes Charge as HMRL Addl MD
Sources said both the Hyderabad Metro expansion and Invest Telangana are among Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's priority initiatives.

Hyderabad:B. Ajith Reddy, CEO of Invest Telangana, on Tuesday assumed additional charge as additional managing director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) at Metro Rail Bhavan.
Soon after taking charge, Ajith Reddy, an Indian Defence Estates Service (IDeS) officer, reviewed the status of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-I and Phase-II projects with senior HMRL officials.
His appointment comes at a crucial stage for Hyderabad’s urban mobility plans. Recently, the state and Central governments jointly appointed SBI Capital Markets (SBICAPS) to evaluate the proposed takeover of Hyderabad Metro Phase-I from L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad and to structure financing for the Phase-II expansion.
Officials said Ajith Reddy’s experience in the Central government and his tenure as secretary to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) department are expected to strengthen coordination on the Metro expansion project.
Sources said both the Hyderabad Metro expansion and Invest Telangana are among Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's priority initiatives. The Chief Minister is understood to have entrusted Ajith Reddy with expediting both projects during the second half of the government's five-year term.
Ajith Reddy and the Chief Minister had earlier worked together when Revanth Reddy represented the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency and Ajith Reddy served as CEO of the Secunderabad Cantonment Board.
