AIIMS Bibinagar marks World Health Day

The Rural Health Training Centre team conducted sessions on antenatal care, institutional deliveries, exclusive breastfeeding, immunisation and nutrition

Hyderabad: AIIMS Bibinagar observed World Health Day 2025 with awareness programmes focused on maternal and child health. Under the theme ‘Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures’, the Rural Health Training Centre team conducted sessions on antenatal care, institutional deliveries, exclusive breastfeeding, immunisation and nutrition. Another event was held at Bommalaramaram Anganwadi Centre to promote food hygiene and personal hygiene practices.

Led by Dr Neeraj Agarwal and Dr N.K. Govind Rao, the drive involved residents, interns and local health workers. PHC Bommalaramaram’s Dr Sumalatha and community members also participated.

Marking World Paediatric Surgery Day, the department of paediatric surgery, led by Dr Shasanka Shekhar Panda, highlighted the role of surgeons through outreach, patient interactions and academic sessions. The department has launched MCh programmes and is training students through hands-on case exposure, said Dr Panda.
