AIG Launches Integrated Stroke Command Centre to Cut Treatment Delays

Dr D. Nageshwar Reddy, chairman of AIG Hospitals, said the initiative marked the beginning of a larger movement towards stroke awareness, early recognition and timely intervention.

Hyderabad: AIG Hospitals on Sunday inaugurated a state-of-the-art Integrated Stroke Command Centre, a first-of-its-kind initiative, aimed at initiating stroke management from the moment an emergency call is received, significantly reducing delays in diagnosis and treatment during the critical golden hour.

The facility was inaugurated by IT minister D. Sridhar Babu in the presence of senior clinicians, healthcare professionals and the leadership of AIG Hospitals. Designed as a technology-driven emergency response system, the Command Centre enables seamless coordination between the emergency call centre, advanced life-support ambulances, radiology services, neuro-intervention teams and hospital command staff.

The system allows continuous monitoring, live communication, pre-hospital data transmission, advance patient registration and immediate activation of stroke protocols even before the patient reaches the hospital, ensuring preparedness for rapid intervention.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr D. Nageshwar Reddy, chairman of AIG Hospitals, said the initiative marked the beginning of a larger movement towards stroke awareness, early recognition and timely intervention.

“Stroke outcomes are determined by how quickly care begins. With this integrated approach, Telangana has the potential to emerge as a national model for stroke prevention and management,” he said, stressing the importance of structured systems, public awareness and technology-enabled coordination in reducing stroke-related mortality and disability.

The IT minister congratulated AIG Hospitals and underlined the relevance of such initiatives to public healthcare. “Medical emergencies like stroke demand speed, preparedness and coordination. This command centre shows how technology and clinical expertise can come together to save lives,” he said, encouraging AIG to share its technical expertise so similar models can be adopted in government healthcare facilities.

Explaining the clinical framework, Dr Chaitanya Koduri, clinical lead, stroke and neurointerventions, AIG Hospitals, said the command centre was designed to eliminate avoidable delays by initiating assessment and decision-making during patient transit itself. He noted that real-time data enables rapid triaging for thrombolysis or thrombectomy, improving survival and functional recovery.
