AI Helped State to Increase Revenue Collection, Says Bhatti

Revenues in the registration department have also shown a steady increase during the same period.

Hyderabad:Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday said the state has increased revenue collections through artificial intelligence, continuous tax monitoring, and administrative reforms.

Speaking at a Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting at the Secretariat on Friday, Bhatti said the use of AI has improved collections, particularly in mining and transport, and directed officials to step up action against illegal sand mining, unauthorised crusher operations, illegal transport, and overloading to prevent revenue losses.

The meeting was attended by ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, and reviewed measures to strengthen revenue generation across departments.

The deputy chief minister said GST revenues in the commercial taxes department have risen by 15 per cent over the past three months due to stricter monitoring and regular reviews. Revenues in the registration department have also shown a steady increase during the same period.

Bhatti said the Cabinet Sub-Committee on revenue generation and resource mobilisation will meet every Friday to review progress. He instructed departments to prepare detailed revenue mobilisation plans aligned with the long-term target of achieving a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

Uttam Kumar Reddy suggested promoting land sales under the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority at the global level to improve revenue prospects. Bhatti directed registration department officials to submit reports on land value revision studies to the sub-committee before placing them before the Cabinet.

The meeting also reviewed Metro Rail land acquisition, revenue, and expenditure, along with progress in improving collections in the excise, revenue, and industries departments. Bhatti instructed officials to submit action taken reports in subsequent meetings to ensure implementation and accountability.
