Hyderabad: An AI avatar of IT minister D. Sridhar Babu was unveiled at DevFest 2026 on Saturday, which has seen the participation of more than 3,000 developers, students and technology professionals.
The event, organised by Google Developer Group (GDG) Hyderabad, featured technical sessions, recruitment opportunities and an initiative to eliminate single-use plastics, according to organisers.
The avatar, described as Telangana’s “AI Minister”, was developed by TensorGo using its HumAIn platform under the guidance of Sai Krishna, IT adviser to the minister.
It made its first live appearance on stage and was presented as a way for citizens to interact with public leadership through AI.
“The next big breakthrough in AI could come from a student, a start-up or a young developer, and we want Telangana to be the place where those ideas get the opportunity to grow,” said Sridhar Babu, who spoke about opportunities for young developers.
The conference was themed “Build, Secure, Scale: Developers and Builders in the agentic era” and featured four tracks which covered artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing, DevOps and mobile innovation.
Participants used rewritable NFC smart badges in the Experience Zone to share digital resumes with recruiters.
Google for Developers, Logitech, Lyric AI, MetLife and MSI participated in recruitment and engagement activities.
Aarshad Devani, GDG Hyderabad lead, said the event combined technical sessions with “immediate recruitment opportunities” for eligible attendees.
Organisers also said reusable water bottles were distributed to participants as part of the initiative to eliminate single-use plastics.
