Adluri Laxman Reviews SC, ST, BC Welfare Schemes at Utnoor

Adluri Laxman said he would take up with the CM shortage of funds for various welfare schemes for tribals under ITDA and the need to release ₹42 crore in emergency funds to ITDA, Utnoor.

Adilabad: SC, ST and Disabled Welfare minister Adluri Laxman Kumar underlined that the state government is committed to the welfare of SC, ST and BC communities. Laxman Kumar, who reviewed the implementation of welfare schemes for SC, ST and disabled communities at Utnoor on Saturday, said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is committed to their education and welfare.

He said he would take up with the CM shortage of funds for various welfare schemes for tribals under ITDA and the need to release ₹42 crore in emergency funds to ITDA, Utnoor. “Welfare and development require funds,” he pointed out. Earlier, Laxman Kumar, along with Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju, MLC Dande Vittal, collector Rajarshi Shah and ITDA project officer Manda Makarandu, distributed school uniforms, bags and bed sheets to students at Ashram Tribal School for Girls in Utnoor.

Further, the minister inaugurated an IF panel in a classroom and had lunch with the students. Adilabad MP Godam Nagesh asked senior officials of the tribal welfare department to submit utilisation certificates for funds received from the centre. This would enable the constituency to receive additional funds for the welfare and development of tribals and SCs.

Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju, Asifabad MLA Kova Laxmi, Boath MLA Anil Jadhav and MLC Dande Vittal requested the minister to address issues relating to ROFR, Podu cultivation, forests and Indiramma houses. They sought clear instructions to forest officials not to harass tribals and non-tribals living in forest areas.

Those present included tribal welfare commissioner Santhosh, residential schools secretary Seetha Mahalaxmi, SC and BC corporations vice-chairman and managing director Dr Mallaiah Bhattu and social welfare residential society secretary Sharada.
