Adilabad: Adivasis sat on a relay hunger strike at the collectorate on Thursday, demanding that the state government take steps to stop forest officials from harassing the Adivasis for cultivating podu lands and issue pattas to lands they have been cultivating for a long time in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.

Adivasis under the banner of Adima Girijana Bhu Rakshna Porata Committee, Rajgond Seva Samiti and Gondwana Panchayati Rai Centres sat on a relay hunger strike. Adivasi leaders Sidam Arju, Bursa Pochaiah, Soyam Chinnaiah, Kodapa Shankar and Mangam Vishwam, Sudhakar and others were present.
