Adilabad Selected As Pilot To Hold Prajavani Grievance Hearings

The state government is making serious efforts to address gaps in the implementation of the Six Guarantee schemes and other key welfare programmes

ADILABAD: The state government is making serious efforts to address gaps in the implementation of the Six Guarantee schemes and other key welfare programmes. Officials are collecting details directly from applicants and rectifying technical issues that prevent eligible beneficiaries from receiving benefits.

Under Praja Palana, the government aims to ensure that all welfare schemes reach the poorest of the poor. As part of this initiative, Adilabad district has been selected as a pilot for conducting Prajavani grievance redressal programmes at the mandal level. The objective is to decentralise Prajavani, currently being held in Hyderabad, and expand it to all mandal headquarters across the state.
District officials, led by collector Rajarshi Shah, will organise a public hearing at Narnoor mandal headquarters on August 25. MPDOs and applicants will participate to resolve issues related to welfare benefits.
Many applicants have faced problems such as errors in age records, mismatched details in ration cards, Aadhaar, phone numbers, and patta passbooks, as well as issues in seeding information with Aadhaar, LPG connections, and ration cards. Some applicants have not received benefits despite applying under the Praja Palana programme. To address these issues, the state government has engaged NGOs to analyse data and provide feedback for effective implementation.
Complaints have also been reported regarding Gruha Jyoti (free power up to 200 units), subsidised LPG cylinders at ₹500, issuance of new ration cards, Rythu Bharosa, crop loan waivers up to ₹2 lakh, Indiramma housing, and Kalyana Lakshmi schemes.
Congress leader Kethuri Venkatesh, a member of the review team, said that details were collected from eligible people in Mulkuguda hamlet of Kothapalli gram panchayat, Narnoor mandal, who were unable to access welfare schemes due to technical errors and incorrect records. He added that the government, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, has taken the effective implementation of the Six Guarantees as a matter of prestige and is determined to achieve saturation-level coverage.
Venkatesh further explained that applicants’ details are being uploaded to the Prajavani grievance portal so that mismatches can be cross-checked and technical issues resolved, enabling sanction of welfare benefits.
Meanwhile, MPDOs, their staff, panchayat secretaries, and members of Kisan Mitra and Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan (MKSS) are visiting identified villages to collect applicants’ details for welfare schemes. This exercise is currently underway in six villages across Narnoor, Indravelli, Neredigonda, and Bazarhathnoor mandals in Adilabad district.

Congress activists and NGOs collect details of Aadhaar, ration card, pattadar pass book of applicants to ensure that eligible applicants get welfare schemes as part of the Prajavani pilot project taken up in Malkuguda hamlet of Kothapalli village in Narnoor mandal in Adilabad district on Wednesday.
