Adilabad Police Arrest Gang Committing Transformer Thefts
The accused were identified as Jadhav Santhosh, Meera Santhosh, Mandwar Navvad, Sarela Ravi and a minor.
Adilabad:Adilabad police on Tuesday arrested a gang, including a minor for alleged theft of transformers and selling copper wire extracted from them. Police seized 100 kgs of copper wire from eight transformers and two 5 HP motors.
The Mavala police registered cases against eight accused in connection with stealing the transformers and causing a huge loss to the farmers. The police, in their investigation, found that scrap shop owners were colluding with the thieves and encouraging them to steal transformers.
The accused were identified as Jadhav Santhosh, Meera Santhosh, Mandwar Navvad, Sarela Ravi and a minor. The police also registered cases against the scrap shop owners, Sheikh Afroz of Utnoor; Abdul Nausheer of Khanarpur of Adilabad and Titil Karana of Milindnagar of Indravelli.
