Adilabad: Chinna Bhuggaram Villagers Attack Cops
Khethawath Nirmala Bai, a resident of Chinna Bhuggaram, contested the elections but was defeated by her opponent, Ujwala Jadhav, a resident of Pat Pat Thanda, a hamlet of Chinna Bhuggaram.

Adilabad: Group clashes broke out on Saturday following sarpanch elections, during which one faction attacked police who were trying to pacify the warring groups at Chinna Bhuggaram gram panchayat in Neredigonda mandal, Adilabad district. Both the defeated and elected sarpanch candidates are members of the BRS.
Khethawath Nirmala Bai, a resident of Chinna Bhuggaram, contested the elections but was defeated by her opponent, Ujwala Jadhav, a resident of Pat Pat Thanda, a hamlet of Chinna Bhuggaram.
Angered by the result, Nirmala Bai’s husband Mohan Naik blocked the road in front of his house with bullock carts, logs, and bricks, alleging that his wife lost because fellow villagers did not vote for her. He declared that he would not allow them to pass since they supported the candidate from Fat Fat Thanda.
Police reached the spot after receiving information and attempted to pacify both groups. However, Mohan Naik’s faction argued with the police, questioning their intervention, and then attacked them with bricks. Three constables sustained injuries in the assault.
Neredigonda police have registered a case against Mohan Naik and are investigating the incident.
