Adilabad BJP MLA Alleges Congress Cheating BCs In Name Of Quota
Payal Shankar also accused the previous BRS government of misleading BCs in the name of Most Backward Classes (MBCs), and said the Congress is continuing the same trend under a different pretext.
ADILABAD: Adilabad BJP MLA and BJLP Deputy Floor Leader Payal Shankar on Saturday alleged that the Congress is deceiving the Backward Classes (BCs) in the name of 42 per cent reservations.
He was addressing a dharna on BC reservations held at Indira Park in Hyderabad. Payal Shankar claimed that the number of Muslim corporators in Hyderabad increased due to the 4 per cent reservations granted to Muslim minorities during Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s tenure. He demanded that the state government provide 42 per cent reservations exclusively for BCs, excluding Muslim minorities.
He further alleged that the Congress is now trying to grant 10 per cent reservation to Muslim minorities under the guise of BC reservations in the state.
