Adilabad: Basar Temple Key Structures to Be Completed Ahead of Godavari Pushkaralu
The queue complex, Prakara Raja Gopuram, Prasada Complex, main entrance ‘Arch’, quarters and guest houses would be completed before the Godavari Pushkaralu.
Adilabad: Key structures of the Basar temple in Nirmal district will be completed within the next eight months ahead of the Godavari Pushkaralu, scheduled from June 27 next.
The state government is giving the temple a facelift at a cost of `354 crore.
The endowments department had given the contractor 30 months to complete the development works. However, in view of the Godavari Pushkaralu, Nirmal collector Bhavesh Mishra has asked officials to ensure that the key structures are completed within the next eight months, to enable the devotees to avail temple services during the Pushkaralu.
The endowments department released the design of the main temple complex with a 3D view as part of the master plan. It includes four gopurams — the West Panchathala Gopuram (G+5), North Navathala Gopuram (G+9), East Panchathala Gopuram (G+5) and South Sapthathala Gopuram (G+7) — besides the South West Prakara Mandapam.
The temple development works include a VIP guest house, the main temple complex, a police station, the executive office and a queue complex.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Basar temple executive officer Katta Anjani Devi said the queue complex, Prakara Raja Gopuram, Prasada Complex, main entrance ‘Arch’, quarters and guest houses would be completed before the Godavari Pushkaralu.
The works, she said, were being expedited to provide facilities for devotees visiting the temple for darshan of Goddess Saraswati and the holy dip in the Godavari during the Pushkaralu.
Targets had been set for contractors for completion of some of the works as part of giving a facelift to the Basar temple under the master plan.
