Hyderabad: Cyberabad commissioner Dr M. Ramesh on Tuesday directed police personnel to enhance public awareness among people about following traffic rules to prevent accidents and save people's lives. Speaking to 150 Greyhounds personnel, who were trained in traffic management, the commissioner noted the accidents will have a severe impact on families and every one of them to foster awareness among the public regarding responsible driving.
The Cyberabad commissionerate has many areas which suffer most from the traffic issues. The traffic gets worse in the event of a rain. He also highlighted the high traffic volume in IT corridor areas and instructed the personnel to remain vigilant while performing their duties there.
The police chief also advised them to remain vigilant throughout the monsoon season and to discharge their duties efficiently to ensure the public faces no inconvenience. When the commissioner inquired about the concepts they had learned, the Greyhounds personnel informed the police chief about the effective management of traffic duties, interacting courteously with the public, and adhering to proper traffic control procedures.
The training covered topics such as traffic management, traffic engineering, and legal aspects. Instructions were also given regarding enforcement actions for violations such as failure to wear helmets, lane indiscipline, wrong-side driving, and drunk driving.
