ACB Unearths Disproportionate Assets Worth Rs 5.02 Cr of Tahsildar
The ACB booked a case against Rao for acquiring assets disproportionate to his lawful sources of income by indulging in corrupt practices and dubious means during his service

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested Fort Warangal mandal tahsildar Bandi Nageswara Rao after unearthing disproportionate assets worth Rs 5.02 crore by government valuation during raids on premises related to him.
ACB sleuths conducted searches at seven locations, including the house of Rao and his family members, his office, and other premises. The searches have preliminarily revealed that he was in possession of house properties worth Rs 1.15 crore, at government rates. agricultural land documents covering 17 acres and 10 guntas, worth Rs 1.42 crore, 70 tolas gold ornaments worth Rs 23.84 lakh, silver articles weighing 1.791 grams worth Rs 92.000, two cars and a bike worth Rs 34.78 lakh, 23 wristwatches worth Rs 3.28 lakh and household articles valued at Rs 16.43 lakh, according to a press release.
The total worth of the assets is Rs 5.02 crore. The ACB officials said that further verification of additional assets is underway, and the current market values were estimated to be significantly higher than the government valuation, the release added.
The ACB booked Rao for acquiring assets disproportionate to his lawful sources of income by indulging in corrupt practices and dubious means during his service and produced him before a special court.
During the first half of this year from January to June, the ACB has registered 126 cases including 80 trap cases, eight DA cases, 14 criminal misconduct cases, 10 regular enquiries, 11 surprise checks and three discreet enquiries.
It arrested 125 public servants including eight outsourcing employees or private persons and remanded to judicial custody, seized an amount of Rs 24.57 lakh in trap cases. The ACB unearthed assets worth Rs 27.66 crore in DA cases of various departments.
Further, the ACB finalised 129 cases during the first half of the year and sent final reports to the state government.
On August 19, the ACB nabbed Chintakindi Lalitha, tahsildar of Amangal mandal in Rangareddy district and Kota Ravi, mandal surveyor, for demanding a bribe of Rs 50,000. In July 2025, the ACB nabbed in separate cases, a deputy tahsildar of Mulugu mandal; deputy tahsildar, working on deputation in civil supplies in Miryalaguda; deputy tahsildar at the office of tahsildar-cum-joint sub-registrar, Kotapalli mandal; and a mandal revenue officer (MRO) of Talakondapally in Rangareddy district, in separate bribe cases.
