ACB Raids Welfare Office Over Corruption Allegations In Jagtial
The operation began around 11 am, with ACB officials scrutinising files and records in the department: Reports

KARIMNAGAR: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted surprise raids at the district welfare office in the Jagtial collectorate on Tuesday following allegations of bribery against a senior official.
The operation began around 11 am, with ACB officials scrutinising files and records in the department. The probe is centred on District Welfare Officer (DWO) B. Naresh, who is accused of collecting illegal gratifications from subordinate staff.
According to sources, anonymous complaints were received by higher authorities alleging that the officer collected ₹1,000 each from Anganwadi teachers towards expenses for his daughter’s wedding. Naresh had earlier served as Jagtial municipal commissioner.
ACB officials questioned Anganwadi teachers and Regional Joint Director (RJD) staff who were recently transferred from Jagtial to Warangal. Officials said the inquiry is not limited to the alleged wedding-related collection, but also covers possible irregularities in official decisions and approvals during his tenure.
The raids continued late into Tuesday night. Officials said further action would follow after verification of seized documents and statements.
