ACB Grills KLIS Ex-enc For 4th day

Hyderabad:The ACB continued their questioning of former engineer-in-chief of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme Bhookya Hariram for the fourth consecutive day in connection with the ongoing probe into his alleged illegal assets. On Monday, reportedly, the officials verified seized property documents in the presence of the accused officer.
Suspecting benami transactions, the ACB examined Hariram’s bank account statements and reportedly questioned him about income sources beyond his official salary. When he claimed to have invested in agricultural and residential land at low prices, which were later appreciated, officials reportedly raised doubts over cash transactions and underreported purchase values.
ACB officials are likely to calculate the value of seized properties with the help of stamps and registration officials. They are likely to serve notices to some suspects who made some financial transactions with the accused officer for questioning. The court granted five-day police custody of accused officer Hariram to ACB for questioning till May 6. The ACB conducted raids recently on 13 locations related to the accused officer's premises and found amassing illegal assets.
