₹91 Lakh Sanctioned For Development of Marlavai Village

Vedma Bojju said he had earlier taken the in-charge minister to Marlavai to highlight the backward conditions prevailing in the historic tribal village

Adilabad: The state government on Wednesday sanctioned ₹91 lakh for the development of the historic Marlavai gram panchayat in Jainoor mandal of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district. Tourism minister and district in-charge Jupally Krishna Rao handed over a copy of the Government Order to Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju in Hyderabad.
In a statement issued later, Vedma Bojju said he had earlier taken the in-charge minister to Marlavai to highlight the backward conditions prevailing in the historic tribal village. He recalled that the minister had stayed overnight in the village two months ago and interacted with students studying at the government Tribal Welfare Hostel.
Following his request, the minister wrote to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, seeking funds for the development of Marlavai, which led to the sanction, Bojju said.
Bojju said bronze statues of the Anthropologist Christopher Von Furer Haimendorf and wife, Betty Elizabeth, will be installed in the Marlavai gram panchayat. They had extensively documented tribal life in the region. Vedma Bojju and District Congress Committee president Atram Suguna thanked tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for sanctioning the development funds.
