70-Year-Old Man Dies, Toddy Toll Rises to Seven
According to Kukatpally sub-inspector S. Ramakrishna, the victim was working as a labour and was being treated at Gandhi Hospital and died while undergoing treatment on Friday.

Hyderabad: Chakali Pedda Gangaram, 70, died after consuming adulterated toddy, died on Friday, taking the toll in the incident to seven. Prohibition and excise commissioner C Hari Kiran ordered the suspension of Balanagar excise CI Venu Kumar for alleged negligence.

According to Kukatpally sub-inspector S. Ramakrishna, the eighth victim was being treated at Gandhi Hospital.
According to a health bulletin issued by the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, nine patients were undergoing dialysis, while two may need dialysis. “A total of 11 are stable, while 12 are stable but require observation,” the bulletin read.
As per Gandhi Hospital’s official statement, the patients at the hospital were in a stable condition, while two are undergoing dialysis. During a review meeting, he further directed DCPs from the department to keep a close watch on toddy shops.
Health minister Damodar Rajanarsimha inquired about the health condition of the victims who are receiving treatment at Nims and Gandhi Hospitals, in a phone call with doctors and senior health department officials.
