₹6,000-Cr Rural Road Works Finalised, Says Minister Seethakka
The minister said the government was prioritising comprehensive development of the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma temple.
Mulugu: The Telangana government has finalised tenders for rural road works worth nearly ₹6,000 crore, according to panchayat raj, rural development, rural water supply, women and child Welfare minister Danasari Anasuya.
Chairing a review meeting at the Mulugu Collectorate with district collector Borkhade Hemant Sahadeorao on Monday, the minister assessed progress on Medaram temple development, sanitation, IDOC works, land resurvey, monsoon preparedness and arrangements for Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s proposed visit.
Proposals are being prepared for the Chief Minister to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects including panchayat raj roads near the Gattamma temple, a new Collectorate, medical college, nursing college, Kendriya Vidyalaya, the Potlapur Lift Irrigation Scheme and embankment works. Officials were directed to prepare a common plaque listing major projects for inauguration.
The minister said the government was prioritising comprehensive development of the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma temple. Officials were asked to prepare a master plan covering land acquisition, road widening, queue systems, guest houses, hospital facilities, cottages, parking, sanitation and development of the Jampanna stream surroundings, while preserving the natural environment.
She directed officials to expedite the 10,600-acre land resurvey at Ramachandrapuram, accelerate the Potlapur Lift Irrigation and Ramappa-Laknavaram pipeline projects, ensure adequate urea supply and strengthen flood preparedness through special response teams.
On monsoon preparedness, the minister instructed officials to monitor drinking water quality, repair pipeline leakages, clean storage tanks regularly and ensure uninterrupted supply. The health department was asked to identify vulnerable residents in flood-prone villages and shift them if required.
Pending works at the Medaram temple are to be completed before the Chief Minister’s visit. Contractors’ dues will be cleared after the release of Rythu Bharosa assistance and government employees’ salaries.
