Special teams comprising 60 police officers conducted raids on notorious rowdy sheeter Zafar Pehalwan, and his associates and seized multiple illegal. weapons from his house in Yakutpura.
Hyderabad: Special teams comprising 60 police officers conducted raids on notorious rowdy sheeter Zafar Pehalwan and his associates and seized multiple illegal weapons from his house in Yakutpura. The raid that was conducted in the early hours of Wednesday was based on a tip-off and a part of an investigation into Zafar’s nephew Junaid -Bin Bharmoos, who was murdered by Zafar's son and his associates on December 3, police said.
Apart from the rowdy sheeter Zafar’s house, police teams also conducted raids on his two sons’ houses. “We carried out the operation as part of intensified action against rowdyism and criminal elements, Kiran Khara, DCP south zone, said. During the searches, our teams recovered multiple illegal knives and documents related to suspected illegal properties, Kiran said. The seized documents are currently under detailed verification, DCP said.
Based on the recovery of illegal weapons, we have registered two FIR’s Arms Act against the accused who are at large. Then the prime accused Zafar Pahalwan, a rowdy sheeter involved in 40 criminal cases, his son Sayeed Pahalwan, ex-rowdy sheeter involved in 5 criminal cases, and Sulemaan Pahalwan, involved in one criminal case.
Special teams of law and order and south zone task force are making efforts to arrest them on top priority basis, police said.
Kiran Khara appealed to the public to come forward and share any information related to the accused or their activities. It has been assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
He further stated that rowdyism and criminal activities will not be tolerated, and stringent action will be taken against those involved in such offences to maintain law and order.
