6 Masked Dacoits Held In Rajendranagar For Stealing Ornaments From Techie’s House

Dacoits wearing masks entered the techie’s house and threatened the family at knifepoint

Hyderabad: The Rajendranagar Police, in coordination with the Central Crime Station (CCS) detected a daylight dacoity in a software engineer’s house and nabbed six persons for committing the crime wearing masks to conceal their identity.

Two knives used for committing the crime, two mobile phones, a car and gold and silver ornaments were seized from the arrested persons, said Rajendranagar Deputy Commissioner of Police Ch Srinivas.

The arrested persons were Jibran Bin Jaber, a driver and resident of Mailardevpally, Mohammed Aqeel, a furniture worker and resident of Karwan, Mohammed Fasiuddin, a carpenter and resident of Humayunnagar, Sohail Shah Khan, a driver and resident of Vattepally, Mohammed Abdul Rub Javeed, a driver and resident of Saifiy Colony and Mohammed Shabbir, a chef and resident of Kalapathar.

On April 21, 2025, a dacoity was reported at P and T Colony at Suncity in Gandipet, under the limits of Rajendranagar police station. The complainant, Mohammed Shakir Ali, a software engineer, reported that while he and his family were at home, four unknown individuals wearing masks forcefully entered the house, and threatened him and his wife at knifepoint.

The accused broke open the almirah and made away with gold and silver ornaments, net cash, and two mobile phones. Based on the complaint, the police booked a case under provisions of BNS and during the investigation, it was revealed that Jaber, who was a relative of the complainant, had prior knowledge about the valuables in the house. He hatched a plan and conspired with the other accused and arranged weapons and a getaway vehicle to execute the crime.

Srinivas said the all accused were caught within four days of the offence. In a public advisory, the police asked the people to avoid sharing personal or financial details with casual acquaintances or extended relatives. The police advised the people to refrain from storing large quantities of cash or valuables at home and use secure lockers in addition to ensuring CCTVs in and around the residence.
