6 Maoists Surrendered Before Bhadradri Kothagudem Police
The Maoists surrendered after knowing about the welfare measures being taken up after surrendering and also development of welfare schemes for tribals

Hyderabad: Half a dozen members of the outlawed CPI (Maoist) party surrendered before the Bhadradri Kothagudem district Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju on Thursday.
Of them six surrendered Maoists cadres, one was People's Party Committee Member and Area Committee Member, two Party Members and three Militia Members. They voluntarily decided to leave the violent path of Naxalism and lead a peaceful life with their family members.
They surrendered after knowing about the welfare measures being taken up for the surrendered Maoists and also development of welfare schemes for tribals, provided under “Operation Cheyutha” programme conducted by Bhadradri Kothagudem district police.
This year, so far, 306 Maoists of various ranks surrendered before the district police.
According to police, hee Maoist lower cadres were not willing to comply with the orders of top cadres and want to leave the party and return to their native villages to lead a peaceful life with their families, as CPI (Maoist) is in the final stages of extinction.
As part of that, so far 306 CPI (Maoist) cadres have already surrendered before the Bhadradri Kothagudem district police only and are leading a peaceful life with their families with the rehabilitation money provided by Telangana government.
It also came to knowledge that CPI (Maoist) cadres have fallen sick and were not even able to walk due to lack of food, support and cooperation from local Adivasi people living in nearby forest areas. This is a positive development that more than 90 per cent of the cadres, who are poor tribals, are now thinking about the development and well being of their families and are therefore leaving the party and joining the mainstream.
“We appeal to tribals that till the time they cooperate with CPI (Maoist) either due to faith or fear, tribal areas will not be developed. Development can only happen through democratic governments. The peaceful life of the people with development is the police motto,” Raju said.
These six surrendered Maoist cadres will be given instant relief of Rs.25,000 each, totalling Rs.1.50 lakh. Remaining amount will be deposited in their bank accounts in the form of cheques after receiving their Aadhaar cards and bank accounts.
