Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will unveil a slew of welfare and development projects during the 11-day Telangana Formation Day celebrations from June 2, including the Rs.5-lakh Indiramma family life insurance scheme, employees and pensioners’ health insurance scheme, Indiramma houses Phase-II, breakfast scheme in government schools and junior colleges, and foundation-laying ceremonies for multiple projects in the upcoming Future City.
Bharat Future City will serve as the main venue for several programmes. As part of the celebrations, the Chief Minister is expected to lay foundation stones for research and development (R&D) centres of 14 pharmaceutical companies in the Future City area on June 2. Sources said major pharma companies, including Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Hetero, MSN Laboratories and Aurobindo Pharma, are among those setting up facilities in the area.
Officials stated that strict norms have been imposed to ensure that all these units operate as pollution-free facilities, adhering to net-zero environmental principles. Foundation stones are also likely to be laid for packaging units of several companies. The government is simultaneously making arrangements for the inauguration of the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) building, where construction has already been completed, and interior works are underway.
The Chief Minister is also expected to lay the foundation stone for the National Institute of Urban Management (NIUM) campus proposed over 25 acres and for the new Singareni headquarters building planned on 10 acres. In addition, several data centre projects are likely to be launched in the Future City region as part of the celebrations.
The state government is also set to roll out several welfare initiatives during the celebrations. The long-awaited distribution of health cards for government employees will begin on June 2. The government is also expected to launch the process of sanctioning Cheyytha pensions to nearly two lakh beneficiaries.
A special programme aimed at providing training to unemployed youth for overseas employment opportunities is also expected to be launched on the same day. Preparations are underway for the inauguration of Indira Mahila Shakti Bhavans proposed in districts across the state.

The Cabinet had recently approved the rollout of a breakfast scheme and midday meals programme for students from pre-primary to Intermediate level across all government schools and junior colleges in the state. Revanth Reddy will launch the programme during the celebrations. The initiative is aimed at curbing dropout rates and improving nutrition levels among students. The programme will cover around 26,561 government and aided educational institutions.
Under the scheme, students will be provided nutrient-rich food, including milk three days a week and ragi malt on alternate days. To ensure hygienic preparation and smooth supply of food, the state government has partnered with the Akshaya Patra Foundation and mobilised 39 centralised kitchens.
The Cabinet has also approved extending the mid-day meals for government junior colleges from the 2026-27 academic year. Nearly 25 lakh students studying from Class I to Class XII are expected to benefit from the combined breakfast and midday meal schemes.
