Nalgonda: A 50-year-old man died after a lorry hit his scooter on the Narketpally-Adhanki highway at Kukkadam in Nalgonda district, police said on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Pragnyapuram Thirupathi of Muthireddygudem in Miryalaguda.
Police said the lorry, which was heading towards Nalgonda from Miryalaguda, hit Thirupathi’s scooter from behind. He suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot.
Thirupathi was on his way to Nalgonda from his native place for work. Police suspect speeding and negligent driving by the lorry driver caused the accident.
The body was shifted to the mortuary at the Miryalaguda Area Hospital for post-mortem. Madgulapally police registered a case.
