5 Singareni Workers Injured in Accident at ALP Mine
While the workers had been performing their duties, an air tank in the area exploded. Those injured have been identified as operator Srinivas, fitters Kiran and Laxman, and helpers Prashanth and Manoj.
Karimnagar: Five workers of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited suffered injuries in an accident at the Adriyala Longwall Project (ALP) coal mine in Ramagundam-III area early on Thursday morning.
While the workers had been performing their duties, an air tank in the area exploded. Those injured have been identified as operator Srinivas, fitters Kiran and Laxman, and helpers Prashanth and Manoj.
Other workers immediately brought the injured out of the mine and provided them first aid. Authorities later shifted the injured to Godavarikhani Area Hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
The health condition of injured workers is stable, though they are reporting hearing problems. It is not yet known whether the air tank exploded due to a technical problem or any other reason. Trade union leaders alleged that the accident took place due to the negligence of the management in maintaining the air tank.
