5 Nepalese Nationals Booked for Misbehaving With Woman Near Nizam College

Hyderabad:Abids police booked five Nepalese nationals for misbehaving with a woman near Nizam College in Hyderabad after they made obscene gestures towards her while she was walking with her partner.

Following the incident, locals gathered at the spot and restrained the accused. Police personnel rushed to the location after receiving information through Dial 100. The accused were identified as Sunil, Umesh, Laxman, Purushottam and Ram, all Nepalese nationals working in catering services in the city and staying in King Koti area.

Abids police registered a case against the accused under the provisions of the City Police Act and would be produced before a court on Friday.

KTR to attend Rythu discom public hearing today

Hyderabad:BRS leaders will attend a public hearing called by the Telangana Electricity Regulatory Commission on Friday regarding plans to form Rythu discom, a third power distribution company. The party had already voiced its opposition to the plan and will present its case at the hearing.

The BRS team will be led by working president K.T. Rama Rao, accompanied by former energy minister G. Jagadish Reddy.

It may be recalled that senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao, on Wednesday, wrote to the ERC listing out various reasons for not granting a licence for Rythu discom.

Two injured after car crashed into lorry in LB Nagar

Hyderabad:Two persons sustained minor injuries after a car rammed into a lorry that was taking a U-turn near Chitra Layout under LB Nagar police station limits during the early hours. Police said the impact damaged the front portion of the car and triggered panic among motorists in the area.

Officials said, “With the airbags deploying on time, the car driver did not suffer any major injuries. The lorry driver is also safe and neither of them sustained serious injuries,” police said.

Police said no major medical intervention was required. Following the accident, local police reached the spot and assessed the situation. However, officials clarified that no formal complaint has been lodged in connection with the incident.

Constable revives electrocuted lineman with CPR

Hyderabad:A police constable attached to Tappachabutra police station saved the life of a Telangana State Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) contract worker who suffered an electric shock while on duty in Karwan on Thursday.

The victim, 44-year-old Raju Naik, an assistant lineman at the Karwan electricity office, was carrying out repairs on an electrical pole near Kummarwadi Hanuman Temple when he came into contact with a live high-tension wire. He fell from the pole and lost consciousness, with his pulse dropping.

Constable B. Suresh, who was on patrol in the area, noticed the incident and rushed to the spot. Finding the worker unresponsive and not breathing, he administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), performing chest compressions that helped revive the victim’s pulse and restore breathing. With the help of locals, the injured worker was shifted to a hospital in an emergency vehicle for further treatment.

Doctors said Naik’s condition is stable and that timely CPR within the golden hour was critical in preventing a fatal outcome.

Tappachabutra inspector G. Balakrishna commended the constable’s prompt response and presence of mind in handling the emergency.
