45 Detained As Insider Links Emerge In Jangaon Land Scam

The scam operated as a continuous, well-organised process over a long period. The investigation has been intensified to move beyond digital manipulation and identify the entire hierarchy involved: Police Officials

WARANGAL: The investigation into the Bhu Bharathi registration fraud took a dramatic turn, with police detaining around 45 people, including government staff. While police have described the racket as a massive, long-running operation, sources claim that lower-level agents and clerks are being made scapegoats to shield powerful figures behind the scam.

Sources in the police and revenue departments, speaking on condition of anonymity, said several of those taken into custody claimed they were forced into the fraud. They alleged that political leaders exerted heavy pressure on them to manipulate the digital registration system. Investigators are now examining the extent and nature of this alleged political influence.

A key concern emerging from the probe is that the main masterminds and senior officials may be evading accountability. Although dozens of field-level agents and MeeSeva operators have been arrested, critics argue that these individuals are being targeted while those who orchestrated the digital fraud and applied political pressure remain untouched.

Police officials said the scam operated as a continuous, well-organised process over a long period. The investigation has been intensified to move beyond digital manipulation and identify the entire hierarchy involved. Authorities are under pressure to ensure that the actual beneficiaries of the fraud are brought to book, rather than only lower-level operatives.
