401 Families Get Swagruha Flats

The flats, sold below market value on a no-profit-no-loss basis, have earned the Corporation around Rs 78 crore so far.

Hyderabad:As many as 401 families have secured flats under the Rajiv Swagruha Corporation’s housing scheme in Pocharam and Bandlaguda, following the conclusion of the allotment process. The flats, sold below market value on a no-profit-no-loss basis, have earned the Corporation around Rs 78 crore so far.

The application process began after a government notification on July 4, with allotments made through a lottery system. In Pocharam, where allotments continued on Saturday, most flats received a single application. Flats with multiple applicants were allotted by drawing lots, including one 3BHK unit that saw 69 applicants.

Applicants who missed out in Bandlaguda were allowed to apply in Pocharam through a separate lottery. Some flats remain unsold. On public demand, the Corporation extended the application deadline for 1BHK and 2BHK units to August 8. These will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis, confirmed the corporation's MD, V.P. Gautham.

An open auction for unsold flats in other city outskirts begins August 4. Kurmalguda will have 20 flats on the first day, followed by Bahadurpally with 69 and Thorrur with 100 on the third day. All auctioned flats are above 200 square feet in area.
