Four held in planned robbery case; ₹28.2 lakh recovered, one absconding

Hyderabad: Balapur police arrested four men involved in a planned robbery case. Police recovered Rs 28.2 lakh, among other items from them.
The theft occurred when the victim was on his way to deliver money for a land deal, Rachakonda commissioner of police G. Sudheer Babu said in a press meet on Thursday.
The police identified the accused as Syed Abdul Khadar, 34, Habeed Haroon, 41, Vardhan, 34, and Rasikanth Bardan alias Kittu, 31. One accused, Rasheed Khan, is reported to be absconding.
The victim, acting on instructions from one Ilyas of Santoshnagar, was to deliver Rs 29 lakh to Ilyas’s brother-in-law, Kabeer, via a known intermediary, Khadar. Khadar, along with his uncle Habeed Haroon, conspired to steal the money. They tracked the victim’s movements and sent him a Google location near Total Gas in Errakunta.
As the place where the victim was called was secluded, on the victim's arrival with his friend Habeebullah, accused Rasheed and Kittu reached on a bike and allegedly assaulted them with sticks before fleeing with the cash. The stolen money was later handed over to Khadar, who gave Rs 20,000 each to them and kept the rest at his house, promising further distribution.
Efforts are on to nab who are still on large.
