359th Prakash Utsav of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Held

The preachers highlighted the life of Guru Gobind Singh Ji as a symbol of courage, selflessness and righteousness, and urged devotees to follow his teachings in their daily lives.

Hyderabad: The 359th Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth and last Sikh Guru and founder of the Khalsa Panth, concluded on Saturday across Telangana with prayers, religious recitations and large congregations. The main celebrations were held at the Central Gurudwara Saheb in Gowliguda, where Sikh devotees, along with people from other faiths, gathered in a spirit of devotion and unity.

“The congregation began at 10.30 am and continued till 4.30 pm with Gurbani keertans and kathas by renowned ragi jathas invited from different parts of the country,” said S. Inder Singh, president of the Prabhandak Committee, Central Gurudwara Saheb, Gowliguda.

The concluding programme was organised under the aegis of the Prabhandak Committee at the Central Gurudwara Saheb, where a Vishaal Deewan was held in front of the gurudwara. Devotees offered prayers to Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism, as part of the mass congregation.

Renowned ragi jathas, including Bhai Satninder Singhji Bodal from Amritsar, Bhai Gurvinder Singhji from Rudrapur and Bhai Ravinder Singhji, along with other invited preachers, rendered Gurbani keertans and delivered sermons. Their discourses focused on higher values of life, national integration, peace, brotherhood and communal harmony, reflecting the core teachings of the Sikh Gurus.
