350 students attend awareness program on safety in Secunderabad
Topics on cybercrimes, gender sensitivity discussed

Hyderabad: Around 350 students of St. Ann’s High School took part in the awareness and interaction program chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) North Zone S. Rashmi Perumal on crucial issues affecting their well-being and safety on the school premises in Secunderabad on Wednesday.
During the program, an attempt was made to raise awareness on topics such as physical and mental health, cybercrimes, drug abuse, and gender sensitivity. Students actively participated and cleared their doubts. The interaction focused on maintaining good health, recognizing signs of mental health issues, and seeking help when needed.
The DCP explained in detail about online safety, recognizing cyber threats, protecting personal information and cautious online transactions and communication. Awareness about dangers of drug abuse, understanding its effects, and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices were also conducted.
She also explained about understanding and respect for all genders, addressing gender biases, and fostering an inclusive environment. The program’s goal was to empower students, to make informed decisions, develop healthy habits, and to understand their social responsibilities, thereby contributing to a safer and more supportive school and social environment.
Rashmi Perumal said the response and interaction with students was fruitful and proactive.
