32-Year-Old Beaten To Death Over ₹500

“Narsimhulu had borrowed ₹500 from the couple and had not returned it": Reports

HYDERABAD: A 32-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by two persons near a wine shop in Medchal, on Saturday evening in a brawl over `500, according to Medchal police.

According to inspector A. Satyanarayana, the deceased identified as Narsimhulu, 32, a native of Medak, working as a ragpicker. The accused — Anita and Narsimha, also ragpickers — work with Narsimhulu.

“Narsimhulu had borrowed `500 from the couple and had not returned it. On Saturday evening, the couple, drunk, approached Narsimhulu near the wine shop, asking him to return the money. When Narsimhulu refused, an altercation broke out between the trio, following which Anita and Narsimha beat him up with sticks, leaving him grievous injuries on the head and ribs,” the inspector said

“When the wine shop owner found Narsimhulu dead, he dialled 100 and the police reached the spot,” Satyanarayana added.

A case has been registered and the couple was arrested. The body was sent to the Gandhi mortuary for postmortem examination. Further probe is on.
