Mason Dies After Fall at Construction Site in Shankarapally

Hyderabad: A 31-year-old mason died after accidentally slipping and falling at a building construction site in Shankarapally on Thursday.
According to Shankarapally inspector Srinivas Goud, the deceased, Anarul Hoque, a native of West Bengal, had come to the city about seven months ago along with his brother in search of livelihood and had been working as a mason since then.
The incident occurred while Hoque was engaged in ceiling construction work at a residential project, Sanctum Homes. He allegedly slipped and fell from a height during the work. He was immediately shifted to a private hospital for treatment and later referred to Patancheru for advanced medical care. However, doctors there declared him dead on arrival.
Following the incident, the deceased’s brother lodged a complaint with the police, alleging negligence by the construction management for failing to ensure adequate safety measures at the site, which he said led to his brother’s death.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and are investigating the matter.
