3.1 Quake Jolts Vikarabad, No Damage Reported

Vikarabad: A mild earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale shook Qutbullapur village and surrounding areas in Telangana’s Vikarabad district early Thursday morning. According to reports, the tremors were recorded at 3:56 a.m. by the National Centre for Seismology, with the epicentre located in farmlands west of Qutbullapur at a depth of 10 km.
There have been no reports of loss of life or property so far.
The quake was felt in parts of Parigi mandal, including Basireddypalli, Rangapur, and Nyamathnagar villages. Though it lasted only a few seconds, residents felt the tremors and rushed out of the buildings. Many nearby villages, however, did not experience the quake.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to remain on high alert, monitor the situation closely, and continue assessing the impact. Local authorities have begun reassurance measures amid ongoing heavy rains across the state.
