3 Held For Stealing Money From Temple Hundis

Kalluru ACP Vasundhara Yadav said the three were arrested on Madhira Road on the outskirts of Kalluru following credible information.

Nalgonda: Kalluru police on Thursday arrested three members of an inter-state gang for allegedly stealing money from hundis at temples in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh over the past six months, police said.

The arrested were identified as Bolusu Yesubabu alias Manikala Yesubabu, 23, of Obulapalem in Mylavaram mandal of NTR district; Chevuri Adinarayana, 30, of Chatrai in NTR district; and Tummala Murali, 25, of Erraguntapadu in Khammam district.

Kalluru ACP Vasundhara Yadav said the three were arrested on Madhira Road on the outskirts of Kalluru following credible information. Police seized tools allegedly used to break open temple doors.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to stealing money from hundis at temples in Chennuru, Chinna Korukondi, Venkatagiri and Mallaram in Khammam district, and at Vissannapeta in Andhra Pradesh, police said.
