HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old private company employee died of electrocution near a children's park at HMT Sathavahananagar in Kukatpally, on Wednesday morning. The Kukatpally police are yet to ascertain whether it was a suicide or an accident.
According to IO K. Narasimha, the deceased, Guddeti Venu, was working at a private company for past four months and residing in a hostel at KPHB Colony. Around 11 pm on August 5, he came into contact with a live wire near the park.
Residents who noticed this informed his friend, Mujir, who shifted Venu to a private hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Mujir informed Venu’s father, Guddeti Anjaneyulu, a barber from Marchala village in Palnadu district, Andhra Pradesh. He lodged a complaint with the police. A case was registered under Section 194 of the BNSS. Venu’s body was shifted to Gandhi mortuary for post-mortem and further investigation is underway.
Venu reportedly also wanted to get into the film industry but faced difficulties. The IO said, “He would often go to the kids park to lighten his mood. We strongly suspect it was an accident and are investigating if there was any negligence by the people who maintained the park. Considering his current mental condition, we are looking into the suicide angle too.”
